What Customers Say About Asus A626 3.5-inch PDA Windows Mobile 5.0, Wi-fi (802.11 B+g), Bluetooth 2.0 (edr),:

I purchased this unit to replace and old PDA. It picks up wifi hot spots very well. It works great. Wifi works great too. Have not found any fault with it yet. Mobil office is included.

I got mine for a year. However, its wifi connection is no more than 2 rooms away inside my house that made me frustrated not to connect the device in many airports. I love it as pda, ie. storing datas, writing and docs, etc. Also, it does not support Java that means no Youtube, websites with stock index, etc. (although Youtube would play with its independent software that requires downloading-needs more space).

but it works just fine (I had some trouble FINDING it, as it runs along the SHORT side of the device, not the long side like I thought)So like I said at the top, this is a good little device, and it does what I bought it for and does it well. This will lower the battery time, but I don't mind that since I don't use it away from the recharger very oftenThe controls to change from portrait to landscape view are easy to use and make this a really nice little book readerThere are a lot of free aps you can get that run on Window Mobile 6.0, which is what mine came loaded with. This has a nice feel to it, its small enough to fit in a pocket, but big enough that it isn't lost in my hand or hard to control.

It was money well spent.cons: it is slow with some applications, specifically, I downloaded a game to it, and I have to wait a couple of MINUTES every time I start the game. Also you have to be patient when it loads a book sized file in the Microsoft Word.

I've had my Asus A626 for about a week now and really like it. I use it mainly as a book reader, for books NOT in protected format (like the Guttenberg Project books or stuff from Baen Books) The automatic shutoff was annoying, so I turned that off too.

The volume on playback from the speakers is very low, so if you want it for music, get earphones, you'll need em The recharger and the sync cord use the same port, so if your computer can't recharge it, you can't leave it connected. Also the sync cord is rediculously short, and I ended up using the one from my previous PDA (but it works, and it does recharge on my computer, so for me this was pretty minor)Pros: I read in one of the other reviews that they were annoyed by the blue lights on the control buttons, I found a setting for turning those off, so thats one annoyance down. The backlight is nice and bright at least indoors.

The telescoping stylus is wierd. I'd like it better if it was half the price, but well.I'd like EVERYTHING better if it was half price.

Now it doesn't synch at all--and I can't figure out why. I bought this as a replacement for an old Dell model & this unit has caused me headaches in synching with my computer. It takes a LONG TIME to synch--often needing to delete all Outlook data and start from scratch. It also has problems displaying Word files. I need to convert to simple text files in order to display them.

Good graphics, good battery life and reliable operation. I use it as a backup GPS with terrain avoidance in my airplane and this thing does a great job running the software. I hooked it up to the GPS through a Bluetooth GPS antenna and get flawless performance. Also good for a laptop replacement when you don't need a laptop to carry along. I can get to the sites I need and the Asus works like it was made to connect.Great machine that beats the other two PDAs I've tried.
